World Class Sailing
The Challenger Model Yacht is crafted from the same materials used in a full scale America's cup yacht, including a carbon fiber composite hull, Mylar, Kevlar, stainless steel, aluminum and titanium. Its salt water specifications make it the only radio control model boat built for ocean sailing conditions. Please see "Tour of Boat" in the Photo Gallery for details.
The Model is raced as an international one design "A3" class. Although graphics and markings may resemble other competitors, all of these boats are identical and have interchangeable parts. Challenger Model Yachts are sailed and raced in many places around the world.
Fully built, the Challenger Model Yacht is easy for a novice to sail right out of the box, yet highly competitive and challenging for the experienced sailor to race, as all the tactics for the big boats apply. On a city pond, harbor, or in the open sea, it is fast and responsive. The boat has been designed to provide not only the appearance but also the performance and superb handling qualities of a true International America's Cup Class yacht.
Its large watertight hatch allows easy access to the strong and simple controls. The keel, rudder, and two piece mast are quickly removable for compact transportation. A sturdy swiveling stand is included, and a golf bag size welded aluminum case holds everything.
The boat travels in it's own custom designed carry case and comes complete with everything you need to be out of the box and on the water in just a few minutes.
